E X P E C T A T I O N S

Expect - to think or believe that (a thing) will happen or come, or that (a person) will come; to wish for and be confident that one will receive; to consider necessary; to think; to suppose.

Expectation - anticipating; looking forward with hope or pleasure; a thing that is presumed to happen; the probability that something will happen.

VOCABULARY WORDS:

  1. Commitment - to pledge; to bind with an obligation
  2. Responsibility - morally or legally obligated to take care of something or carry out a duty
  3. Respect -admiration felt toward a person or thing that has good qualities or achievements; politeness arising from this; attention; consideration
  4. Consideration - careful thought; taking care not to inconvenience or hurt others; kindness
  5. Contribution - to give jointly with others, especially for a common fund or goal
  6. Communication - to make known; to pass news/information to and fro; to have social dealings with

What we expect from you:

  1. Commitment = attending youth on a regular and consistent basis
  2. Responsibility = calling to let an adult leader know you will not be attending any bell or choir rehearsals; knowing your calendar of events and times, when the bells ring and the choir sings
  3. Respect = for the adult leaders and for each other (i.e., no name calling, no inappropriate language, always being respectful of all church property)
  4. Consideration = listening when others (adults and/or your fellow youth) are talking
  5. Contribution = giving of your time and talents to the program and ALL of its activities and events
  6. Communication = talking to your youth leaders when you have concerns or problems

What we expect from your parents:

  1. Commitment = encouraging active involvement and commitment to the group on a consistent basis
  2. Responsibility = making sure that you know the schedule
  3. Respect = getting your youth to and from youth on time
  4. Consideration = calling or having your child call if he/she will not be at bell or choir rehearsal or youth on a specific evening
  5. Contribution = supporting all youth projects, fundraisers, rules, activities, and events
  6. Communication = talking to us if you have questions and concerns

What you can expect from us:

  1. Commitment = we will be here every week with activities, discussions, games, snacks, etc. planned for you
  2. Responsibility = we are responsible for you while you are at youth = we will not make rules that are unreasonable
  3. Respect = we will listen to and respect your opinions when you express them appropriately
  4. Consideration = we will provide you with a schedule of events in a timely manner
  5. Contribution = we will give you 100% of what we have to offer to have a successful program
  6. Communication = we will talk to you about anything that you feel you need to talk about. If we don't have answers, we will do the best we can to find them, we will help you in any way possible at anytime.
