CURRENT ACTIVITIES

Helping to End Hunger One Family at a Time

The Outreach and Nurture Committees are joining together to help end hunger one family at a time with your help. Starting in January we will be asking each Sunday School Class, Bible Study and all members of Grace to join together and sponsor one of the many items from Heifer International to end hunger one family at a time. We are hoping this will be a yearlong project in which we will fill the Ark. Herbie Kern has made an Ark for us, as each item is funded the item will be added to the Ark which will be on display for everyone to track our progress.

We will be asking each group to select the item from the Heifer International catalog. We are hoping each group comes up with a creative way to earn the money for their item. An example would be if you select bees maybe you would visit a bee keeper and find out more about bee keeping that would provide you with ideas.

Any animal not selected from the Heifer catalog by a group we will hang a signup sheet for those who are not members of a group to help sponsor. From the signup sheet you will be contacted and given an envelope for use in making your donation.

The first Sunday in January will be the kick off with a speaker from Heifer International during the Sunday School hour. The children’s department will use some education material from Heifer International to educate our children.

Heifer International has a training site in Maryland and we will try to put a trip together to visit that facility once the information is available for 2010. Please stay tuned.
